Innovation thrives in an environment where creative thinking is encouraged. The presence of challenges in our daily lives should not always be seen in the negative but should rather allow our desire to overcome the challenges and create innovations that can solve them.
Young talented Africans with great ideas and innovations capable of transforming Africa and greatly impacting human and social development should be encouraged. Ideas that can revolutionise agriculture, ICT, medicine and other critical sectors of the African economy can be engendered when critical and analytical thinking are encouraged at an early age.
While we look out for the next set of great innovators in Africa, we, more importantly, look out for the next set of great female innovators in Africa. If innovation drives growth, then, African kids must innovate by thinking outside the box.
Innovation Hub is our signature programme to drive innovation among the youths across Africa. We will partner with information technology and services organisations of international repute that will provide life skills for young Africans in both Junior and Senior Secondary Schools who are interested in science/engineering/IT-related fields.
The idea is to stimulate their interests in these fields, and at the same time set them on the path of greatness so that by the time they get into the university, they are already prepared to disrupt the world of technology. This is our way of nurturing the next generation of innovators in Africa.
