OASIS WATER PROJECT (SDG 6 CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION)
Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of an ideal world we want to live in and the presence of sufficient fresh water on the planet makes this achievable. Major limiting factors to achieving this however include bad governance and poor infrastructure, subjecting millions of people including children to diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation, and hygiene. Food security, educational opportunities for poor families, and livelihood choices are also negatively impacted by water scarcity and poor water quality. When there is no access to safe water, education and food become limited, health gets harmed and this leads to a cycle of poverty. Drinking dirty water often leads to illness and disease which are capable of robbing an entire community of its future.

Golden Oasis Spring Foundation works in partnership with development partners to sink boreholes in poor communities to enable the provision of clean water. We are not oblivious of the lack of maintenance culture in most African communities, so to ensure the sustainability and preservation of these projects, we get host communities committed to the maintenance of these projects and we also run unscheduled visits to project sites as these guarantee the sustainability of these projects.

With a budget of $1,700, a host community will get a borehole facility.
