QUALITY EDUCATION

Quality education is a human right and a public good. Governments and other public authorities are expected to ensure that a quality education service is available freely from early childhood into adulthood, unfortunately, this is not the case in most African countries where millions of children of primary school age don’t have access to school. There is no doubt that when children are equipped with knowledge and confidence, they will grow up to lead healthier and more productive lives.

A larger percentage of those who do have access to education in Africa still lack the basic things like good shoes for school, good school uniforms and writing materials simply because their parents cannot afford to provide these for them. The level of poverty is alarming to the extent that many parents can barely eat a meal of a balanced diet, and while preoccupied with the challenge of feeding, having their kids walk barefooted and clothed in tattered uniforms to school is of little concern to them.

Golden Oasis Spring Foundation provide new school uniforms, good footwear, writing materials, school bags and scholarships in our bid to ensure that the children of the indigents are not denied quality education. However, since the girl child has a lesser chance if choices were to be made of which child should access education in poor homes, Golden Oasis Spring Foundation focuses more of its activities on quality education for the girl child as she is in a naturally disadvantaged position.

We also work alongside communities, governments, partner organisations and stakeholders to develop innovative learning solutions and provide educators with the skills necessary to fulfil every child’s need to learn as we seek to address the different aspects of basic education.
